This beautiful antique necklace features a central heart shaped pendant with delicate Guilloche enamel decoration in white with pale green to the edges. The front of the heart is then hand painted with roses, foliage and a blue ribbon in such a pretty and dainty style. There are two further small enamel panels to the top of the heart which suspend from the chain, both decorated in pale green.
Made in Sterling Silver and fully hallmarked to the reverse. Made by J. Aitkin & Sons Birmingham and was made in 1912.
The heart measures 2.3 cm in width and 2 cm in length. The pendant is suspended on a silver chain with a T Bar closure fitting. This was a very typical fitting for the time so I believe the chain to be original to the necklace. The chain measures just under 20 inches in length.
The enamel is perfect on the heart section with no damage, there is just one tiny chip to one of the small suspension panels, otherwise in perfect vintage condition.
