The most stunning original Art Deco engagement ring set with a superbly rare Octagonal Cut Diamond to the centre in a bezel and mill grain setting. When it comes to finding original 1930s rings, a piece as beautiful as this is a truly rare occurrence, from the unusual and hard to find centre Diamond cut to the detail and engraving, this ring is an exceptional piece of history. Set with Old Cut Diamonds to the slightly raised setting around the centre Diamond and then a row of larger Old Cut Diamonds to the edge in a square frame with tapered corners. Three further Diamonds are set to each shoulder with the whole setting being finished with mill grain beading to the edges. The band has the most exquisite scrolled hand engraving to each edge, giving so much detail from every angle.

The Octagonal Cut Diamond is a form of Step Cut Diamond with straight linear facets which give a 'hall of mirrors' effect, probably developed around the same period as the Asscher Cut Diamond in the early 1900s. 

The central Octagonal Cut Diamond has been calculated in the setting and is estimated to weigh 1.10 Carat. G Colour and VS1 Clarity. The central Diamond is totally clear and bright. The outer surround of Old Cut Diamonds totals approximately 0.60 Carat. H Colour SI1 Clarity. The total Diamond weight being approximately 1.70 Carat. 

The setting measures 14mm x 13mm. 

A simply spectacular ring, incredibly rare and in wonderful condition with beautiful details from every angle. The ring sit lovely and low on the finger with a smooth setting, making it a practical piece too.
