1920s Tiffany & Co Engagement Ring

We are delighted with our latest arrival, an original Tiffany & Co engagement ring from the 1920's!

This rare find is an fine example of the birth of the modern day engagement ring, Tiffany & Co invented the solitaire. In 1886 Charles Lewis Tiffany showcased the new Tiffany setting, featuring a single Diamond elevated in a claw setting and set above a simple plain band. Wanting to highlight the beauty of the central diamond, Charles Lewis Tiffany created a ring that has been the iconic symbol of an engagement ring ever since, even the engagement ring emoji is a solitaire!

This was a huge revelation at the time, when the usual Victorian styles mainly featured clusters of stones and settings with lots of ornate scrolled details.

We are so excited to be able to offer this original Tiffany & Co ring from the 1920s. Set with a stunning Old European Cut Diamond in a beautiful six claw setting. The claws are Platinum with the Diamond set above a wonderful 18ct Yellow Gold band which is dainty and rounded, making it such a tactile ring and effortless in style. The inner band is stamped with that unmistakable Tiffany & Co stamp.

This beautiful ring is over 100 years old and still looks in style, Tiffany certainly created a timeless and iconic design in the solitaire engagement ring.
